24th September Propaganda - Ceri James Live Session

Last week’s Propaganda show was a little bit special as we featured our first ever live session. Celebrating the release of his 2nd album ‘Win, Lose & Some You Can’t Tell’ Ceri James joined us in the studio to play an exclusive three song acoustic session for us. Joining Ceri in session was his label mate Christy. The pair runs one of South London’s premier independent record labels in Mile High Music and they both discussed the label, which has amongst others released material by Art Brut, Honeycube, Nathan Persad and Gemma Ray.

17th September - Ten City Nation Takeover

On the 17th September Jamie was ill so Andy took over the reigns and was joined by our very special guest Seymour Patrick formerly of John Peel faves Miss Black America and currently of Propaganda faves Ten City Nation. Apart from the 3 Ten City Nation tracks played, Seymour chose all of the music during the show. The playlist has been miss-placed somewhere over the last week but some of the tracks played were from The Indelicates, AC Acoustics, Future of the Left, Frank Turner and Their Hearts Were Full of Spring.

10th September Playlist - 7 Inches Of Fun

Last weeks Propaganda show on Xstream East Radio was a bit of a nolstagia-fest, the idea for this special show was that we would randomly pull records from a record box and would play whatever record that was selected, we like to think of it an old school shuffle.

3rd September Playlist (Cover Version Special)

We like a good cover on Propaganda a chance for a band to get out of their comfort zone and deliver something different form their usual material. Recently the art of the cover version has taken a bit of a knocking, with everybody supposed to have one for their promotional push and for that I blame Jo Whiley. But there are still some good ones out there and we asked the listeners for some selections and together we compiled the playlist for last nights show:

You’ve Got the Love – Florence & The Machine
Careless Whisper – The Gossip
I Heard It Through The Grapevine – The Slits
Hot Like Fire – The XX (Aaliyah Cover)
Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa – Hot Chip & Peter Gabriel
Swastika Eyes – Autokratz
Lost In Music – The Fall
Catch – Art Brut
Superstar – Sonic Youth
Umbrella – Manic Street Preachers
A Day In The Life – Easy All-Stars

This should be up soon on the Xstream East listen again player shortly until then here are some of the covers we couldn't fit into the show:

Tom Williams and The Boat - Bonkers

China Drum - Wuthering Heights

Carter USM - Rent
